Protect Your Build Before the Walls Close

BuiltDry helps homeowners gain clarity before insulation, drywall and finishes hide the structure.

For Mold Prevention

Your Home Is a Major Investment

Whether you are building a custom home, finishing a basement, completing an addition or renovating an existing space, moisture conditions matter.

Once walls are closed, concerns can become harder to see and more expensive to address.

Mold prevention starts with understanding and controlling moisture. BuiltDry focuses on the right sequence: review, document, dry, recheck, then protect.

What We Look For

BuiltDry reviews accessible pre-enclosure areas such as

Framing

We check accessible wood framing for signs of elevated moisture, dampness or staining.

Subfloors

We review exposed subfloor areas for trapped moisture before flooring is installed.

Basements

We inspect accessible basement walls, floors and framing for moisture-related concerns.

Additions

We assess newly constructed areas before insulation, drywall and finishes are installed.

Renovation Areas

We review exposed renovation spaces to identify moisture concerns before enclosure.

Window and Door Areas

Check for moisture intrusion.

Areas Exposed to Weather

Assess weather-related moisture.

Visible Dampness or Staining

Identify visible moisture signs.

Drying and Sealing Work Together

Drying helps reduce moisture concerns before walls are closed. Sealing and preventative treatment can add another layer of protection where appropriate for the project

Together, these steps support better construction practices and healthier home outcomes.

Important Service Note

BuiltDry provides preventative moisture management, drying support, sealing and mold prevention services. If active mold growth, contamination, hidden damage or remediation conditions are present, additional assessment or remediation may be required before preventative work can proceed.

10-Year Mold & Mildew Protection

We protect your property using Fiberlock IAQ 6200 EZ, a premium, 100% acrylic water-based coating. This product features a 10-year manufacturer’s limited warranty guaranteeing that the dry coating film will remain resistant to mold and mildew growth on its surface. To ensure full compliance with Fiberlock’s strict factory specifications and to keep the product warranty valid, our team executes a rigorous, multi-step preparation and application process:

01

Professional
Structural Drying

Moisture Testing:

We systematically test the substrate material to verify that the moisture levels have been safely brought down. Coating is strictly delayed if the material registers above a 15% moisture level content.

Climate Monitoring:

Application is only conducted when both air and surface temperatures are safely above 50°F (10°C) under optimal drying conditions.

02

Surface Preparation

Decontamination:

We ensure all surfaces are completely dry, solid, and clear of dust, dirt, grease, loose paint, and organic matter before spraying begins.

Substrate Priming:

While IAQ 6200 is self-priming over bare sheetrock and concrete, we pre-seal porous wood knots with stain-blocking primers or treat ferrous metals with rust-inhibiting direct-to-metal primers where necessary.

03

Uniform Coating Application

Equipment & Method:

We apply the coating generously and uniformly using a professional airless sprayer to guarantee a flawless, gap-free seal.

Coverage Standards:

We apply the product to meet precise density requirements—averaging 300–400 sq. ft. per gallon on smooth surfaces and adjusting for a required second coat on highly porous materials to verify a total seal.

Disclaimer

The manufacturer’s 10-year warranty applies strictly to mold resistance on the dry surface of the product itself when applied to these factory-mandated standards. It does not cover underlying plumbing/structural leaks, labor costs, or protect against food-borne bacteria, viruses, or generic disease-causing organisms.

Documentation Benefit

Quality construction should be supported by more than promises. Builtdry provides documented proof that your home was inspected, moisture-tested, and properly dried before the walls were closed, helping protect your investment and giving you lasting confidence in how your home was built.

Your home should not only look good—it should be builtdry from the inside out.

Do not treat mold prevention like an afterthought.

Start before the walls close.
